be careful in who you recieve prophetic words from, for there are many who are gifted in the prophetics, but there are few who are true prophets. a false prophet is a believer who gives you prophetic words in their self confidence and who doesnt disciple their walk in Christ.
for there is a great difference between speaking in self confidence vs speaking in love.
a believer can be a true prophet but if he isnt walking the walk of pure consecrated discipleship in maturity & submitting to authority in Christ, then he is a false prophet. and you have the right to refuse his words.
You see, anyone has the ability to give prophetic words or have the gift to be a prophet.
But there’s a difference between Prophet and prophet.
Prophet with a capital P, (the reason why a letter is capitalized is to signify imperative high authority of divinity, such as not saying he, but He, or not holy spirit, but Holy Spirit) are Prophets who have the gifted ability to AUDIBLY hear the VOICE of GOD.
Some of these include Isaiah, Ezekial, Moses, Elijah, Jesus, Daniel.
There are no more Prophets.
However, prophets with a lowercase p, are people who are gifted to give prophetic words. They’re not internally prophets, they are just people that God chose them to be a selected candidate to manifest the prophetic gift.
However God has the ability to take the gift away if He so chooses to do so.
Some of these prophets include Bob Hartley, or Bob Jones.
Now you dont have to be a believer to be a prophet.
There are many nonbelievers out in the world who have the ability to give prophetic words.
But how do we discern if a christian is a prophet and if he is saying is true?
That’s how. If he is aligned under Christ correctly and walking faithfully in Him always in serving as a leader in ministry, and he has the ability to give prophetic words. Then he is a prophet and what he says is true.
However this can be a little tricky too, since everyone in the world can become an instant transfigurated instrument guided by the Holy Spirit to give you words or a sign.
I’ve been in a number of situations in my life where I always crossed paths with others who were not christians but gave me prophetic words. And you know some of their advice was true, but to really discern what is a true prophetic word.
Is how SPECIFIC IN DETAIL the prophetic word is.
If a christian is not serving in ministry but just going to church, or if a nonbeliever gives you prophetic words in specific detail.
Know that their words is not true, for it does not come from the Lord, it comes from their self confidence.
There’s a difference between speaking what’s of the Holy Spirit VS speaking out of self confidence.
15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving,considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
be aware of those preachers who preach in self confidence vs preaching in love. to help identify the difference, a pastor who preaches in self confidence runs on emotions of frustration, anger, and can cause discord among the comfort level and disrupt the energy of flow in the room. james 5.
but this doesnt validate us to expose them or emphasize pointing the finger at who’s in the wrong, for we also have a choice to take offense or to not respond to it either. take everythig with a grain of salt & soak into it before you decide to use the tongue.
for it is foolish to speak without discernment.
i encourage everyone to preach their revelation. it’s important to preach. james 1:22-25.
However preach in love and in the spirit, but not in our self confidence/ pride.
You speak not out on emotions, anger, pride, but you speak out on LOVE.
When you give words based on what you’re confident in yourself’s giftings, then it’s only a word on your own self confidence.
But when you give words based on His Love, then it’s a word influenced by the Holy Spirit, a true prophetic word.
